Be careful how much they take as a deposit, because whatever they decide to charge, you are not getting it back.

Great Campground, strict rules. People that work in office not so friendly. Overall the trip to MT Washington was the greatest. So much to do and see, have been there twice and there is still lots to see. The Cog railway train up MT Washington was fantastic with so much amazing history. Highly recommend!!!

In terms of things to do at the site, we did play mini golf (free, old-fashioned but fun), and my boys skipped the rest (a decent slip and slide and a huge inflated jumping mat. We also walked down to the Pemigewasset river to see if we could swim. The river splits in 2 at the campground. The part where you enter was yucky, but after to go around an island, you get to the fast flowing part and it was fun to make rock dams and splash around. Not deep enough to swim in. You can find great swimming holes nearby.

The weekend I had scheduled was thunderstorms, so I attempted to cancel. I was surprised to find that they have a two-week cancellation policy, but it is in writing on the site, so fine, I should have read it. But what wasn't right is that they actually charge you the full amount of your stay, as a deposit, because they declare every weekend as a special event. Their right to charge more than the first night is on the website, but there is no indication as to when this might be evoked, or any reference to it at all in the campground specific policy. When I got my confirmation email I was surprised that I had been charged for what seemed like the amount-in-full, and wasn't asked if I wanted to pay the whole amount.

My family camped here on a July weekend. This place is about 80% RV's and 20% tents. Bathrooms are near the tent sites, hot showers were wonderful, stayed hot, and had great volume. I wanted a quiet camping area, not a block party, so I chose site 133.

This is a great family campground. There is a ton for the kids to do. They can play on the jump pad, in the playground, on the water slide, in the pool, or one of the many free games. The pull thru sites aren't very big and completely in the open, but still adequate for the family. The staff seems very nice and helpful. The one big thing that amazed my wife and I is how quiet it was at night. By the time quiet hours hit, you could hear the crickets. We could peacefully sit by the fire and not have to listen to drunks going crazy. That was a very nice change from other non KOA campgrounds we have visited. I suggest you sign up for the rewards too. Just a few long weekends and it just about pays for itself.

Deposit Policy Not In Writing

If you want to set up a tent, I would totally recommend sites 133 through 143, the ones that are on the outer side of the road. Do not pick 132, 134, 136, or 142 as I noticed the ground was sloped on those sites and would have been unpleasant to sleep on. Also they aren't as wooded. 133 is great if you're camping on just one site. If you have a group, choose 137-143.

When I called in to cancel, the person that took my reservation lied about telling me that the deposit was the full-amount and that it was non-refundable, which as far as I could tell wasn't necessary, because at no time did I talk to anyone that seemed to have any intention of giving anyone a refund, for anything, ever. I called KOA Corporate Customer Service and the representative was in full support of each campground doing whatever they want with regard to the deposit amount, without the need to make it clear when they would be charging what.

Let me know if it's helpful!

Camped here during Labor Day. The tent sites are OK, but the layout is weird. They tend to have two tiers, which is difficult for families with large tents to find space for tent and car. The amenities are great.
